The short version: Calendar Gnome reads your calendar on your device to schedule alarms. If you sign in, only your alarm entries — a meeting's title and time — sync across your devices through your account. We don't sell your data and use no advertising or analytics trackers.
What the app accesses on your device
- Calendars. With your permission, Calendar Gnome reads events from the calendars you choose, so it knows when your meetings start. Your full calendar content stays on your device.
- Notifications. With your permission, it posts local alarms/notifications at meeting times.
Accounts and sign-in
To sync alarms across your devices, Calendar Gnome uses an account. You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google). We receive an account identifier and, depending on the method you choose, your email address. We never see your Google or Apple password.
What syncs, and where
- Your alarm entries — the meeting title, the alarm time, and which device created it — are stored in our sync database (Supabase) so your other signed-in devices ring the same alarms. Each account can only access its own entries.
- Your settings (which calendars to watch, alarm preferences) stay on your device.
- We do not upload your full calendar, event attendees, locations, notes, or any event detail beyond an alarm's title and time.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time inside the app under Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and erases all of your synced alarm entries. You can also stop syncing at any time by signing out.
Third parties
We use Firebase Authentication (Google) for sign-in, Sign in with Apple if you choose it, and Supabase to store your synced alarm entries. These providers process this data on our behalf to run the sync service. We include no advertising or analytics trackers.
Children
Calendar Gnome is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
