Privacy Policy

The short version: Calendar Gnome reads your calendars — on your device, and Google Calendar or Outlook if you connect them — to schedule meeting alarms. That calendar content is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers. The only calendar-related details that leave your device are the title and time of alarms you create yourself, and of meetings whose alarm you dismiss, so your other signed-in devices behave the same. We don't sell your data, and we use no advertising or analytics trackers.

What the app accesses on your device

• Calendars. With your permission, Calendar Gnome reads events from the calendars you choose, so it knows when your meetings start. Your full calendar content stays on your device.
• Notifications. With your permission, it posts local alarms/notifications at meeting times.

Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook

You can optionally connect a Google or Microsoft account so Calendar Gnome can ring for meetings in calendars that aren't on your device.

• Access is read-only. For Google we request calendar.calendarlist.readonly and calendar.events.readonly; for Microsoft, Calendars.Read. Calendar Gnome never creates, changes or deletes your events.
• What is read: your list of calendars and, for the calendars you choose, each event's title, start and end time, whether it is all-day or cancelled, your response to the invitation, and its location and description — the last two only to find a video-meeting link so you can join from the alarm.
• Where it goes: the app requests this directly from Google or Microsoft and processes it on your device. It is not sent to or stored on our servers. The sign-in tokens that let the app read your calendar are kept in your device's secure storage (the Keychain on Apple devices, Keystore-backed storage on Android).
• One exception: if you dismiss the alarm for a specific meeting, that meeting's title and start time are stored with your account so the dismissal also applies on your other devices. Dismissals are removed automatically a day after the meeting.
• What we never do: sell this data, share it with anyone, use it for advertising, use it to train AI or machine-learning models, or allow people to read it.
• Disconnecting: in the app, go to Calendars → Connected accounts → Disconnect. You can also revoke access at any time from your Google account or Microsoft account.

Calendar Gnome's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Accounts and sign-in

To sync alarms across your devices, Calendar Gnome uses an account. You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Apple. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google). We receive an account identifier and, depending on the method you choose, your email address. We never see your Google or Apple password.

What syncs, and where

• Alarms you create yourself — their title, time, and which device created them — are stored in our sync database (Supabase) so your other signed-in devices ring them too.
• Dismissed meetings — the title and start time of a meeting whose alarm you dismissed — are stored so the dismissal applies on every device.
• Each account can only access its own entries.
• Your settings (which calendars to watch, ring times, alarm sound) stay on your device.
• Alarms for your calendar meetings are worked out on each device from its own calendars. We do not upload your calendars, events, attendees, locations or notes.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time inside the app under Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and erases all of your synced alarm entries. You can also stop syncing at any time by signing out.

Third parties

We use Firebase Authentication (Google) for sign-in, Sign in with Apple if you choose it, and Supabase to store your synced alarm entries. These providers process this data on our behalf to run the sync service. If you connect Google Calendar or Outlook, the app reads your calendar directly from the Google Calendar API or Microsoft Graph, as described above. We include no advertising or analytics trackers.

Children

Calendar Gnome is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
